Looking for God is a photographic publishing project born from the inner need to explore an experience of faith. The intimacy of personal spirituality meets, in this body of images, the universality of symbols, beliefs, and cultural and social practices characteristic of Italian Catholicism.

A search for God thus becomes both poetic and paradoxical: is it possible to photograph something that does not exist? To what extent can the photographic medium, so deeply tied to tangible reality, become an instrument of revelation? And further, what value and philosophical role could a potential photographic image of a miracle assume?

Geography, autobiography, and metaphor intertwine within the pages of a book that combines a documentary approach with a utopian poetic inquiry, where childlike faith represents—not so much a religious fervor—as a magical and wondrous comfort from the complexities of the world. The images that make up Looking for God urge us to question our beliefs, to reflect, and to observe our geography in relation to them.
